Norman Witkin is sales and marketing consultant specializing in the high technology field. He began consulting in 1990 after holding senior management positions with Mitsubishi Electronics, Control Data Corporation, Century Data Systems, Computer Automation and Hughes Aircraft Company. He is the founder of the commercial systems division of a minicomputer company specializing in computer operating systems and communications software.

As a product marketing senior manager he led the new product process for floppy disk drives, optical disk drives, printers, monitors and various video products including video conferencing. He has written and lectured extensively in the field of data communications and data networking.

As a consultant to Hughes Aircraft and Raytheon Systems, Norman Witkin is active in the field of intelligent transportation systems. He inaugurated the North American weigh station by-pass program for commercial vehicle operations. These systems allow trucks to by-pass weigh stations based on transponder communications to roadside readers. He manages the Hitachi account for the technology associated with electronic toll collection systems.

Witkin is the author of Enterprise Networking for Information Systems Professionals, published 1995 by Van Nostrand Reinhold, 115 Fifth Ave, New York NY 10003, ISBN # 0-442-01875-4.

As a seminar leader, he presents seminars on data communications and local and wide area networks to audiences in the United States, Australia, New Zealand and South Africa.

Mr. Witkin graduated with a B.Sc. in Mathematics and Mathematical Statistics, with distinction, from the University of South Africa. He also graduated with a M.S. in Business Administration from California State University, Northridge.
